A message from Jay and Liz Scott, Alex's Parents:

Many of you think of Alex as a hero – the sweet and courageous lemonade girl who inspired others to help children with cancer. Although she did not get the chance to live a long life, she showed us what it means to live a full life. Her bravery, strength and love of life continue to inspire us every day. She is indeed our hero!

Since Alex was diagnosed in 1997, more than two million more children worldwide have suffered because of cancer. These kids all have hopes and dreams of long lives. They have parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and cousins who cherish them. They all inspire those who know them with their bravery, strength, and love of life. They are all heroes.

Jillian was a courageous and strong-willed child. She always had a smile on her face, and no matter the pain she felt, always made sure everyone else had smiles too. Jill received treatment for neuroblastoma the year she was born, but sadly passed away.

Collin was a social butterfly who loved to have fun. He was diagnosed twice with ALL, and after 12 wonderful years cancer-free, he was diagnosed with mucoepidermoid carcinoma and began fighting all over again. Sadly he passed away, but was an inspiration.

At 3-and-a-half years old, Sam's parents found a large lump on Sam's abdomen. He underwent surgery to remove it and was cancer-free for a short time. When the cancer returned, it was treated like stage 4 neuroblastoma. Sam has been cancer-free since 2017!

It may be safe to say that Jonathon's heroism in his battle against cancer takes after his love for the Avengers. After a few "crying spells" Jonathon was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and he's been fighting courageously ever since.
When Connor isn’t reveling in the Christmas season, he’s finding joy from music year-round. Whether he’s letting his creativity run wild on a new coloring app or just enjoying time on his iPad, Connor strives to lead the life of a normal 15-year-old boy.
Like many teenage boys, Ryver loved playing video games and watching videos on Tik Tok, but what set Ryver apart from the crowd was his steadfast positivity. Despite many struggles, Ryver always kept himself in a good mood, wearing a smile on his face.
The perfect balance of sweet and strong-willed, 3-year-old Lily likes to march to the beat of her own drum, so she’s been fighting high-risk B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia on her own terms. Her treatment will last two and half years total.
Emerson inspires others with her fighting spirit at almost 9 years old. After an X-ray yielded no results, blood tests revealed Emerson had acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common type of cancer in children.
At 3 years old, Haylee has an interest in everything. Unfortunately, she was born with neuroblastoma, but she is fighting with strength and courage and inspiring her loved ones along the way.
Luke’s curious spirit and inquisitive mind left him with lots of questions when diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma. At 6 years old, he underwent biopsies and bone marrow tests before beginning six months of chemotherapy, but he also connected with others.
At the age of 2, Hadley has overcome more challenges than the average toddler. At only 22 months, Hadley’s family braced themselves for a new battle with anaplastic ependymoma. Since then, Hadley has shown an abundance of strength for a girl of her size.
Emma is a beautiful little girl born with an unfortunate complication: Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome. This rare genetic disorder comes with a statistically higher risk of developing cancer. Emma is screened regularly, getting the best care she can.
Makenzie is a bright 8-year-old fashionista who loves dancing and music. When she was 20 months old she received a bone marrow transplant to treat her severe combined immunodeficiency. A year later, she found out the donor had been diagnosed with cancer.
Strong doesn't even begin to define Jake. He fought ependymoma since 2012, facing several obstacles along the way. Luckily, Jake qualified for a clinical trial that helped keep his cancer stable for a while. Sadly in August he passed away.

Daniel, nicknamed DJ by his family, loves video games, cooking and playing soccer. In summer 2019, DJ had headaches and nausea often. One early morning, his parents found bruises on his leg and back. He was brought to the hospital and diagnosed with ALL.
Cece is an extremely persistent and determined young girl. What her family initially thought were growing pains turned out to be acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Treatment started immediately, but Cece was incredibly brave.
Before Casen's diagnosis, he had a stomach bug that he couldn’t seem to kick. When his doctor felt a mass in his abdomen, he was immediately sent to the hospital. There, he was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, and began treatment.
Dylan loves making people laugh, but in the December of 2013, he began feeling unusually tired. Three-year-old Dylan spent Christmas Day in bed with a fever that wouldn't go away. After a few doctors' visits, his blood counts revealed he had cancer.
Six-year-old Elise has owned her cancer journey since January 2018, when doctors diagnosed her with a brain tumor on her optic chiasm. Recent MRIs revealed continued tumor growth, but even so, Elise's family remains positive during her fight.
