A message from Jay and Liz Scott, Alex's Parents:

Many of you think of Alex as a hero – the sweet and courageous lemonade girl who inspired others to help children with cancer. Although she did not get the chance to live a long life, she showed us what it means to live a full life. Her bravery, strength and love of life continue to inspire us every day. She is indeed our hero!

Since Alex was diagnosed in 1997, millions more children worldwide have suffered because of cancer. These kids all have hopes and dreams of long lives. They have parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and cousins who cherish them. They all inspire those who know them with their bravery, strength, and love of life. They are all heroes.

Sylvia loves volunteering and being active and artistic. After an MRI revealed a brain tumor instead of a suspected food allergy, Sylvia's entire life changed. She had surgery two days later and then began treatment. Thankfully today, she is cancer-free!

Evelyn, called Evie by her family, is a bubbly toddler who loves superheroes and princesses. During her 1-year checkup, her doctor had trouble getting a good reading on her vision. Ten days after being diagnosed with retinoblastoma, she began treatment.

Madelyn (Madi) is a sweet, sassy girl who loves coloring, playing outside and singing. The day after her 4-month check-in, Madi was diagnosed with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML), a rare disease that required an incredibly difficult regimen.
Kallie is a smart, beautiful, strong-willed 10 year old. For a while, she had been complaining of severe leg pain among other things. By the time doctors found her cancer, it had spread to her bone marrow and she had to start chemo immediately.
Kensley is the happiest, strongest little girl to her family. When her mom noticed her lymph nodes were swollen, she had blood drawn. However, the machine wasn't working. At the ER, they found that Kensley's blood cell count was just too high to read.
Audrey has a positive aura about her, which has helped get her through a chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) diagnosis at 6 years old. Her sister, Lily, has also been there every step of the way. Now, Audrey's family is hoping for her special spark to return.
Abigail Smith
Abigail loves to play with her four brothers, read and ride her tricycle. When she continued to experience unexplained bleeding after starting antibiotics, an ultrasound revealed a mass in her bladder. Still, Abigail doesn't fear the future.
Juliet Shippee
Juliet was a very loving and caring little girl. She dealt with a lot of extreme challenges that came with her diagnosis, like losing function in parts of her body. She went through a lot in a small amount of time but, in the end, was still able to smile.
Rosalie Snowdon
Rosalie is an independent, fierce toddler. When her parents noticed her stomach was distended with a blood vessel sticking out, they took her to get checked out. Not long after, doctors discovered she had cancer, and she began chemotherapy.
Hannah Staton
Strong, intelligent Hannah is full of attitude and loves to cuddle. One day, her parents noticed a lump on her back between her ribs. Then doctors discovered a mass in her chest, and, ever since, Hannah’s undergone treatment to try and beat the cancer.
Grayson has always been an active, joyful kid. After suffering from low energy levels and dizziness, doctors discovered a tumor in his brain called astrocytoma. Now, Grayson is finished treatment and gets a check-up for his tumor every three months.
Taft Harter
After suffering from stomach pain, tiredness, and what was thought to be an ear infection, Taft was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. In October, he finished treatment and is now playing soccer and going to school with friends again.
Eden was diagnosed with a cancer type no doctor had ever seen. They crafted a treatment plan that made her cancer-free, but 2 years later she relapsed. After an ALSF-funded clinical trial and radiation treatment Eden has beaten cancer a second time!
A 5-year-old with a penchant for helping others, King loves spending time with his younger siblings Mesiah and Faith. He also inspires his family every day as he continues to fight acute lymphoblastic leukemia with the strength of a lion.
Frankie is a chatty kid who loves animals and hopes to work with them professionally one day. His parents rushed him to the hospital one night, where doctors diagnosed him with pilomyxoid astrocytoma. Frankie continues to undergo weekly chemotherapy.
Brayden is a sweet kid who loves to make others happy. Even as he continues to fight ganglioneuroblastoma, he keeps a selfless attitude throughout treatment. His family takes their lead from his perseverance and strength during his diagnosis.
Elijah
Elijah is a selfless kid with lofty goals to hike the Appalachian Trail before college. Meanwhile, he continues to fight CNS germinoma with the support of his family. He hopes to become a pediatric oncology nurse to help kids like him someday.
